Cosmo Whyte

Based in Atlanta, Georgia and Montego Bay, Jamaica, Cosmo Whyte is a transdisciplinary artist and visual art lecturer at Morehouse College.

Cosmo Whyte ’07 (Fine Arts Post-Baccalaureate) is a transdisciplinary artist and visual art lecturer at Morehouse College. He uses a variety of mediums — including drawing, performance, photography and sculpture. Whyte’s work explores how identity is disputed by migration.

Born in St. Andrew, Jamaica in 1982, the artist attended the University of Michigan for his M.F.A. after leaving 新沙巴体育投注_足球比分直播-平台*网址. He has exhibited in the U.S., Jamaica, Norway, France and South Africa. His honors include the 2010 Forward Art emerging artist of the year award., the 2015 International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award, and an Artadia Award in 2016.  He recently  participated in the 2016 Atlanta Biennial and the 2017 Jamaica Biennial.
